Bachelor of Education in Information and Communication Technology
The Programme is offered at Laws Campus.
Specifically, the Programme aims at:
- producing high quality Information and Communication Technology teachers for secondary schools and teachers training colleges
- preparing students in various Management and leadership roles in schools
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- Applicants should have a full MSCE certificate or its equivalent with at least six (6) credits including English and Mathematics – Duration 4 years
- Applicants with a Diploma in Education Sciences from recognised institutions may be admitted in second year if they majored in Mathematics after full evaluation of their transcripts.
University Certificate in Education
The programme is tenable at Laws Campus with two residential sessions of 2 months (July/August) for full time training.
This is the Postgraduate certificate and it specifically aims at:
- equipping teacher trainee with knowledge and skills of pedagogy
- equipping teacher trainee with knowledge of child development
- helping to reduce number of unqualified teachers in secondary schools
- preparing teacher trainee in various Management and leadership roles in school
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Social Science in Human Rights
The programme is offered at Ekwendeni Campus.
Aims and Objectives of the programme are:
- Encourage a critical interdisciplinary approach to the study of development
- Foster interest in research and advocacy in development related disciplines
- Students should be able to:
- demonstrate a critical understanding of multi dimensionality of development
- apply knowledge from different disciplines in dealing with development challenges such poverty
- engage in advocacy on gender mainstreaming in the field of development studies
- provide sound ethical leadership based on Christian values
- demonstrate understanding of management, administration and economic processes
- conduct research in different aspects of human rights and development
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- Applicants should have a full M.S.C.E or its equivalent with six credits (6) including English and Mathematics – Duration 4 years.
- Applicants with Diploma in Law or Human Rights from an accredited University or institution will be enrolled in 2nd
year, subject to evaluation of the academic transcript – Duration 3 years.

The programme is offered at Laws Campus.
The objectives of this Programme are to:
- produce graduates capable of practicing
computer engineering to serve Malawi and the regional industries,
government agencies, or national and international industries; - produce graduates with the necessary
background and technical skills to work professionally in one or more of
the following areas: computer hardware and software design,
computer-based systems, computer network design, system integration,
electronic design automation; - prepare graduates for personal and
professional success with awareness and commitment to their ethical and
social responsibilities, both as individuals and team environments; - prepare graduates capable of entering
and succeeding in an advanced degree program in a field such as
engineering, science, or business; - produce graduates with the necessary background and technical skills conduct research in related computer technologies;
- produce entrepreneurship-oriented graduates who are able to provide products and services to the community.
- Applicants must have a full MSCE or its equivalent with six (6) credits, including English, Mathematics and Physical Science.
- Applicants with Diploma in Computer Engineering and/or equivalent may be exempted in first year, provided they covered a strong theoretical and practical foundation in digital fundamentals programming, systems analysis and design and other courses offered in the lower years at a recognised institution.
- Applicants are required to poses a laptop computer.
