Entry Qualifications

Generic

Applicants must be in possession of the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent with six (6) credit passes including English.

Mature Entry

MSCE plus a certificate or diploma in a relevant programme or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. Experience in the field is an added advantage.

Credit Transfer and Exemptions

Candidates who hold any of the qualifications above may be exempted from some course units at the discretion of the Senate upon recommendations from the faculty. In addition, a candidate registered in another accredited university may be allowed to transfer credit to the programme of interest offered at the University.

Please note: the maximum number of courses exempted or given credit transfer shall not exceed 50% of the total required course units for the whole programme.

Application Procedure

Applicants shall:

  1. Submit an application to the University Registrar within the specified period of applications;
  2. Provide original copies of their certificates to support their eligibility for the programme;
  3. Pay application fees that shall be determined by the University from time to time.
