Mr. Timange Pamodzi Banda’s research interests span across Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Digital Transformation, Digital Sustainability, Artificial Intelligence, and Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D). His work is centered on leveraging emerging digital technologies and spatial data systems to support sustainable development, improve service delivery, and drive innovation in both public and private sector contexts. He is particularly interested in the role of ICT in enabling inclusive development, enhancing decisionmaking processes, and fostering sustainable digital ecosystems. Through his research, he aims to contribute to the advancement of technology-driven solutions that address real-world challenges in developing and digital economies.
Mr. Timange Pamodzi Banda is an accomplished academic, researcher, and Head of the Computer Engineering Department at the University of Livingstonia (UNILIA) with over 15 years of experience in higher education and information technology. He holds a Master of Informatics and a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from the University of Malawi. His areas of expertise include Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Digital Transformation and Sustainability, and ICT for Development (ICT4D). He has vast experience having lectured at various top-notch universities and higher education institutions. He is passionate about curriculum development, applied research, and mentoring students to become innovative and globally competitive ICT professionals. Through his teaching, research, and academic leadership, he continues to make significant contributions to digital education, GIS applications, sustainable technology adoption, and technological innovation in Malawi.
